Golden Cream Chocolate Cake   – Very good
(Delma Gomes from Noémi McCowan)
2 cups sifted flour
¼ tsp salt
2 eggs unbeaten
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp baking powder
½ cup butter
1 cup milk

¼ tsp soda
1 ¼ cups sugar
3 squares unsweetened chocolate
  1. Sift flour once, measure, and then add baking powder, soda and salt and sift again three times.
  2. Cream the butter thoroughly adding sugar gradually until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each.
  4. Melt and then add the chocolate and blend.
  5. Add the flour and milk alternately, beating well.
  6. Add the vanilla and blend in.
  7. Bake in 2 x 9” greased layer pans in a moderate 350F/176C oven for 30 minutes.

Spread Golden cream filling between layers and Choi fluff frosting over the cake, OR,
For an all chocolate cake, spread the Hungarian chocolate frosting between the layers and over the cake.
