Date and Banana Dessert [6] (Fay Anne de Freitas)

8 bananas 1 lb dates stoneless 4 satsumas or 2 oranges peeled and segmented | 12 fl. oz single cream1 oz plain semi-sweet chocolate – grated |
- Thinly slice the bananas crossway; slice the dates in half; separate the satsumas/oranges into sections.
- Arrange approximately one half of the banana slices on the bottom of a medium-sized serving dish.
- Pour 2 fl. oz of single cream over them.
- Arrange about one half of the dates and similarly pour a further 2 fl. oz on top of the dates.
- . Arrange a layer of satsumas/oranges on top and again add 2 fl. oz of cream over the top.
- Continue alternating layers until all fruit has been added, ending with a layer of cream.
- Chill the mixture in the fridge for at least one hour until quite cold.
- Just before serving, sprinkle the grated chocolate on top.
