Pizza base (Gene Watkinson)
1 lb plain flour
1 tsp salt

1 pkt instant yeast
1 tbsp oil
2 tsp sugar
½ pint tepid water
  1. Sift together the flour and yeast and then add all of the dry ingredients and mix well.
  2. Add the oil and water and use oiled hands to mix and knead the dough.
  3. Let sit for 20 minutes.
  4. Assemble the toppings desired for the pizza including a tomato base, cheeses, meats, peppers etc.
  5. Roll out the pizza and then brush with the tomato puree and add the toppings.
  6. Place in a hot oven 400F/205C and bake for about 20 minutes.
Pizza – Batter mixture (Delma Gomes)
2 ½ cups Bisquick

1 pkt yeast
2/3rd cup warm water
Pizza Dough  - Basic (Delma Gomes)
½ oz Yeast
1 pinch Salt

½ lb plain flour
¼ pint warm water
1 tsp sugar
2 tbsp corn oil
  1. Put crumpled yeast and sugar into a small bowl with 3 tbsp warm water.
  2. Leave 5 minutes until bubbles form on top and mixture doubles in volume.
  3. Sieve the flour and salt into a bowl, make a well in the centre and pour in the yeast mixture, corn oil and warm water to make a firm dough.
  4. Place the dough on a floured board and knead until smooth, shiny and elastic.
  5. Put the dough into a bowl, cover, and leave until doubled in volume.
  6. Punch dough down with fists and divide into two portions.
  7. Knead each on a floured board, flattening to a circle, and pulling gently apart until the circle is 8” round.
  8. Roll with rolling pin to widen to 9” to 9½ “ circle.
  9. Turn up the edges to make a rim and place on an oiled baking sheet.
  10. It is now ready for filling.
Pizza – Pillsbury’s All-Purpose Recipe - Batter mixture (Delma Gomes)
1 cup flour
2 eggs

1 tsp salt
2/3rd cup of milk
1 tsp oregano
1/8 tsp pepper
Pizza – Pillsbury’s All Purpose flour (Delma Gomes)
Pizza ingredients
1 cup flour
2 eggs


1 tsp salt
2/3 cup milk


1/8 tsp pepper
1 tsp oregano or Italian Seasoning

Filling ingredients
¾ cup chopped ham
2 x 8 oz cans tomato sauce
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper


1 clove garlic minced
1 cup chopped salami OR
1 can browned ground beef
Sliced or grated cheese – mozzarella and/or parmesan


4 tsp oregano
½ cup green pepper or
1 cup sliced pepperoni

  1. Mix the pizza ingredients to form a dough. Punch down and roll out to a circle. Turn up the lip.
  2. Mix and/or layer the fillings into the pizza crust
  3. Bake.

Pizza – Makes 2 pies (Delma Gomes)
1 cup milk
2 tbsp shortening
3 cups sifted enriched flour
1 tsp crushed oregano
2 tbsp olive or salad oil

1 tbsp sugar
¼ cup warm water
6 oz can tomato puree
Dash of pepper
2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
Salt
½ cup water
1 pkg yeast
¼ lb sliced mozzarella cheese
  1. Scald the cup of milk.
  2. Stir in the sugar, 1 tsp of salt and the shortening.
  3. Cool to lukewarm.
  4. In a bowl, place the warmed water (not hot) and add the yeast. Stir until dissolved. Add the lukewarm milk and stir in the enriched flour. Blend for 2 minutes.
  5. Cover and let rise until double – about 45 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, add together the tomato puree/paste, ½ cup of water, salt, pepper and crushed oregano.
  7. When the dough is doubled, stir the dough down and turn out onto a lightly floured board. Divide to form two balls.
  8. On greased baking sheets, press each ball into a circle about 12” in diameter, but keeping the edges thick.
  9. Top each with a mix of sliced Mozzarella cheese, tomato mixture, drizzled olive or salad oil and grated Parmesan.
  10. Bake in a hot oven 400F/205C for about 25 minutes.

Pizza – Radio Recipe - Batter mixture (Delma Gomes)
½ lb flour
1 small egg
1 level tsp salt
1 oz butter/marge
½ oz yeast
¼ pint lukewarm milk
Pizza – Topping (Delma Gomes)
¾ cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic minced
2 8oz cans tomato sauce
2 ½ cups shredded mozzarella


1 cup chopped salami OR
2 cans chopped anchovies OR
1 lb browned beef WITH
½ cup chopped green pepper OR
1 cup sliced pepperoni
3 tsp crushed oregano leaves
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
  1. Mix together then place sprinkle shredded cheese or strips on top. Sprinkle with oregano.
  2. Bake in moderate over 425F/218C for 15-20 minutes or until crust is brown and filling is hot and bubbly.

2 cups Bisquick
½ cup water

1 ½ cups flour
½ tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder

(Batter 2)
2 cups Bisquick
½ cup water
2 tbsp butter/shortening
2 cups flour
½ tsp salt
4 tsp baking powder

(Batter 3)
2 cups Bisquick
½ cup water
1½ cup margarine
8oz flour
½ tsp salt
3 tsp baking powder

(Batter 4)
2 cups Bisquick
½ cup water
2 tbsp corn oil
½ lb flour
Pinch of salt
1 tsp sugar
