Tomato Soup “Savoury Pasties” (Delma Gomes)
1 lb minced beef
1/3 pint water
2 tbsp corn oil
8 oz frozen mixed vegetables
1 pkt tomato soup
12 oz short-crust pastry
  1. Fry the mince in the corn oil until well browned.
  2. Add the tomato soup mix and water.
  3. Bring to the boil stirring and then add the mixed vegetables.
  4. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Roll out the pastry to 2 large squares. Cut each square into 4 smaller squares.
  6. Divide the meat mixture into the centre of each square, damp the edges, and fold over.
  7. Seal the edges.
  8. Bake at 400F/205C gas mark 6 – for 25 minutes.
