Spanish Steak [4] (Delma Gomes)
1 tbsp oil
¼ tsp pepper
½ cup sliced mushrooms
8 oz can tomato sauce

1½ lb sirloin steak 1” thick
2 medium onions chopped
2 tbsp butter

1 tsp salt
¼ cup green pepper
½ cup sliced olives

  1. Preheat oven to 350F/176C
  2. Heat the oil in a heavy skillet and brown the steak on both sides.
  3. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  4. In a saucepan, sauté the onion, green pepper and mushrooms in butter until tender.
  5. Spread over the steaks along with the olives.
  6. Cover and bake for about 30 minutes or until (a) steak is tender and (b), when cut, is still a little pink inside.
