Meringue Topping (Maria Teresa Faria de Freitas)
  1. Beat 1 egg white stiff.
  2. Add ½ cup sifted confectioners sugar gradually, beating after each addition.
  3. Add a dash of salt, ¼ tsp vanilla, ¼ tsp almond extract and 1 tsp lemon juice.
  4. Blend well. Pile lightly on cake.
