Beef With Peppers [6] (Fay Anne de Freitas)
Ingredients:

1 lb beef cut cross-grain into thin slices
1 green pepper – cut into squares
1 red pepper– cut into squares
1 onion – sliced lengthwise
2 tbsp vegetable oil
½ tbsp brown sugar
¼ cup water

Season with:

1 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp sherry
1 tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 hot pepper – finely chopped
1 clove garlic

  1. Season and then marinate meat for one hour.
  2. Brown the sugar in the oil.
  3. Add the meat and stir quickly, cooking for one minute.
  4. Add the onions and the water – cook for 30 seconds.
  5. Add the pepper squares and cook for another minute.
  6. Serve immediately (hot).
